# ChannelBinding

## class nominal.experimental.compute_as_code.ChannelBinding(data_scope, channel, tags=<factory>, series_type='numeric')

A channel resolved relative to the run or asset where a checklist executes.

Parameters:
:   - **data_scope** ([*str*](https://docs.python.org/3/builtins/stdtypes.html#str "(in Python v3.15)"))

      Data source reference name on the run or data scope name on the asset.
    - **channel** ([*str*](https://docs.python.org/3/builtins/stdtypes.html#str "(in Python v3.15)"))

      Channel name within that scope.
    - **tags** ([*Mapping*](https://docs.python.org/3/library/typing.html#typing.Mapping "(in Python v3.15)")*[*[*str*](https://docs.python.org/3/builtins/stdtypes.html#str "(in Python v3.15)")*,* [*str*](https://docs.python.org/3/builtins/stdtypes.html#str "(in Python v3.15)")*]*)

      Tag filters selecting a series within the channel. Defaults to no additional filter.
    - **series_type** ([*Literal*](https://docs.python.org/3/library/typing.html#typing.Literal "(in Python v3.15)")*[**'numeric'**,* *'categorical'**]*)

      Type supplied to the source compiler and frontend editor. Defaults to numeric.

> The builder copies tags when adding a check. No channel lookup is performed locally;
> the service resolves the scope, channel, and tags when evaluating the checklist.
